Ranked as one of the top 100 places to live by Money Magazine, Santa Clarita now has another designation that sets them apart: they now join more than 350 communities in California that have adopted the Home Energy Opportunity (HERO) Program. HERO, a Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program, has helped to create more than 8,200 jobs, has funded more than 48,000 residential projects, and has provided more than $975 million in financing to homeowners in California alone.
“The HERO Program has been proven to create jobs, reduce energy bills, and decrease water consumption," Vice President of Community Development for Renovate America Blair McNeill said. "With cities looking for ways to support conservation, now is a good time for homeowners to embrace PACE programs like HERO.”
Homeowners in the fourth-largest city in Los Angeles County can easily apply online or over the phone to determine if they’re eligible for energy-efficient home repairs and renovations, including drought-resistant landscaping and HVAC upgrades. There is no application fee, and it only takes a few moments to determine property approval.
The HERO Program has been featured in Forbes Magazine, Bloomberg Business, Reuters, and Greentech Media.
