Riverside is the largest city in the county and has over 60,000 homes. Thanks to Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG) it is also one of the very first communities to partner with the HERO Program to create home energy solutions for residents and jobs for local contractors.
Home Energy Renovation Opportunity (HERO) is a Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program recently awarded with the Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award. HERO has helped to create more than 4,300 jobs, funded more than 26,500 residential projects, and provided more than $514 million in financing to homeowners. Mayor Bailey says it’s a “win-win,” for everyone.
“Riverside has one of the best combinations for going solar,” continues Mayor Bailey. Residents now have access to a wide variety of upgrades that conserve resources and lower utility bills while stimulating demand for local construction. You can easily find out if your property is eligible for energy efficiency products through the HERO Program by applying online or over the phone. The application process is free and simple—you can find out if you qualify in less than two minutes.
